I don't really know my budgies gender and I don't know if it might cause problems. When I first got them last October, Lemon's nose was very pink. And blueberry nose was dark brown. I searched the web and it dint give me very direct answers so I just assumed that Lemon was female and Bleuberry was male. It might have been the opposite. Now Lemon's nose is light purple and Blueberry's nose is still dark brown. The internet says that brown is female so then I assumed that she was female. Then the brown faded away and a very light blue replaced it. So then I thought that he was male. Now it's back to brown. I am very confused. Can budgies gender switch? On top of that, Blueberry has become very bossy and is bossing Lemon around. I don't know if this is male behaviour or Female behaviour and the internet is not much help. I know this is a very confusing story but can anyone help me out? Here is a picture of both of them.

They don't switch genders, of course. Your hen, Blueberry, has simply gone in and out of breeding condition. Pale blue is what a hen's cere (not nose) will look like when not in breeding condition. Lemon is male. He does look like he might be a recessive pied in which case his cere will not go the deep blue of a normal male. As a hen, it is Blueberry's job to be bossy, as it is Lemon's fate in life to be bossed.
