around 24 hours, its was just that I googled it first of all, and some say 2 - 4 hrs, so I was getting worried, some even said pick the shell with tweezers, then I thought, the one and only place I should ever ask questions is here, and how glad I did, as so far so good, Googling is very tricky and not every information is correct on the Internet. I am sorry for the chick. It appears to me that the chick was weak. Keep an eye on the next chick. If it is weak and can't cry for food, the hen will not feed him and it will die. You may have to hand feed once or twice before hen starts feeding him.

We have one very healthy chick, 3 more eggs to hatch, so all is not lost, just sad we lost a chick, but thank you to you all x
