Hi! I‘m new here, and this is my newest little Love, Grover. I can’t quite work out what type of pied he/she is? Help please 😃. I thought it looked like it’s gone through the first molt, though I do see extremely faint lines on the forehead still- so not sure if that’s related to the recessive genes instead? The cere made me think it’s male(?). Any thoughts would be appreciated. As to the mutation- I tried to get photos that show all the white and the location of the blue coloring. I got the tummy for reference and the back, face. I did notice the back feathers are more of a brownish grey. The shoulders at top of wing are black/great. Eyes are black, no visible iris, and have that tan/pink ring around them. Thanks so much for the help. This is my first recessive mutation budgie, and I keep getting confused between SF dominant, clearwing, etc. Cheers! Susan Hope I got the photos right. 🤪

Dominant pied male. If he has only just gone through first moult the iris rings will not yet have visibly started to form.

The white patch at the back of the head is a pied patch. All pieds (should) have it.

Oh thanks Hezz that's really interesting. I know nothing about gender and mutation, except that now I know that the Kevster is a dominant pied.
