I would be stuck then, BB, having only boys! It could well be as you say. I am lucky in that my boys are in a school (all boys) where it is cool to succeed, study and do well, be respectful. A lot of businesses around town, if I mention where my boys are at school, will say something like "I like dealing with the Saints boys, they look you in the eye, speak politely and know how to hold a conversation" Not bad for teenage boys, hey?? Your boys sound like gentlemen Hezz To get boys like that here, you have to place them in some good boarding schools. British curriculum boarding schools are very common but there are one or two Australian as well. Another option is Army Cadet Collages, which discipline them. Other than that, they are share trouble, of course a few exceptions everywhere. Very off-topic, so back to naughty hens ............... Smudge got a bee in her bonnet about something yesterday. One minute sitting on my shoulder happily tweeting and the next chikkering loudy in my ear and bobbing about. The next thing I know, a nip on the ear and she has taken off! You want to too, Madam! A look in the mirror later in the day and I have been getting around with a blood-spot on my ear courtesy of Madam Nip herself. It has been a long time since she last did that. I never heard of a tame budgie being this violent. It's good that Smudge has settled now.

I'm sure you were a good boy though BB As for tame budgies, as you know, Dumpling is a biter! Abbie bit me earlier too. She is getting more feisty by the day! I rustled the curtain and put my hand out to get her off, she chittered and flew at me!

Males criticizing males and females criticizing females, isn't it the other way round normally I guess so! Although women usually do not like other women, in my experience. Most of my friends are male!

Y'see, I never got that bit! I know it is all about competition, but I still don't understand it! The girl bit, I mean. Thank you BB, I like to think my young men are/will be gentlemen. They are certainly on the right track. As, I am sure, you were at their age! As for the Wicked white witch, a la Smudge, it took me a good 12 months to teach her that biting was not a good thing to do. Every now and again, I guess it is okay for her to forget her lessons. I know she tries hard most of the time, to behave.

Here's one for you! Decided to have a fly around the kitchen while I cleaned the cage. Might have to get something for the window in there to cover it up. Attachments:

Definitely cover the window for a bit. She will get to know that it is a window and can't be gone through, so it doesn't have to be a permanent solution. I have huge sliding doors both ends, and my solution was simply to blu-tak sheets of paper to them when the bird is new into the room and gradually over about a week take sheets down bit by bit, so they get to recognise the boundaries of the room. The sheets of paper break up the image of the outside so they do realise there is something in their way.

Billie is having an afternoon nap or more like looks like shes planning something mischievous. I spotted her sleeping and promptly took a picture. The little madam noticed and there's a right cheeky look in her open eye (you may have to open the download sent it too small) as much to say 'what are you doing?' Attachments:

Smudgie has been up to a few tricks the last couple of days. Yesterday she threw the whole seed pot, seeds and all off the top of the cage. She also threw off the spare perch I keep on top of the cage for when they try to hide from me behind the playgym, and I also found one of the grass bunches on the floor too - I lay the blame firmly at her feet! She is also looking for hidey-holes. Behind the cutting boards leaning against a cupboard - a nice little V-shaped gap to get into; between the toaster and the side of the cupboard where it lives; in my jogger I had left at the top of the stairs; up the leg of my shorts - trying to rearrange my shorts and my leg to pull around her. And scratching like crazy at the cuttlefish bone(s). She has gone through three small ones since Friday! Methinks Smudgie a little clucky!
