It's a long Charge Sheet Hezz ;D She has definitely been keeping me on my toes, BB! I didn't see (but heard) the seed pot hit the floor - my son said she flew off before he knew what she had done - so she can be quick when she wants to!

Can't answer that one, BB. I asked, but got a nip for my troubles! I think that is "secret hens' business" - not for public knowledge.

Does anyone have a hen who pulls the hairs on men's arms or legs? Guess who? Yep, Smudge! ;D

Does anyone have a hen who pulls the hairs on men's arms or legs? Guess who? Yep, Smudge! ;D Hens love any imperfections as a rule - Mont used to try and bite off my partners mole on his hand, and she would always remember it was there and look for it! Much to his annoyance ;D

Every time i go into the Aviary this little minx is at it, when i put them back into the Aviary after the revamp she went straight over and rubbed her head all round this pole as much to say its mine, its mine, its mine. I keep expecting to go in and find them all on the floor in a heap as this is her place and the others sit below oblivious to the handy work taking place above their heads ;D

Oh, poor birdies don't know they are being set up for a fall! Smudge had a swing (was Blue's originally, but SHE claimed it) with dowel uprights with a little cuphook in the top of each upright to hang from the roof of the cage. Little miss Madam decided it made good chewing, and chewed her way through the upright while sitting on the swing. ;D It was noisy! With her squarking, flapping and the swing banging the side of the cage pandemonium ruled for a few seconds til she sorted herself out! I am sure you will hear all about it when she finally gets through that post!

Smudgie has been up to a few tricks the last couple of days. Yesterday she threw the whole seed pot, seeds and all off the top of the cage. She also threw off the spare perch I keep on top of the cage for when they try to hide from me behind the playgym, and I also found one of the grass bunches on the floor too - I lay the blame firmly at her feet! She is also looking for hidey-holes. Behind the cutting boards leaning against a cupboard - a nice little V-shaped gap to get into; between the toaster and the side of the cupboard where it lives; in my jogger I had left at the top of the stairs; up the leg of my shorts - trying to rearrange my shorts and my leg to pull around her. And scratching like crazy at the cuttlefish bone(s). She has gone through three small ones since Friday! Methinks Smudgie a little clucky! Just caught up with this thread - have been DYING to see some latest pictures of the Smudgster ;D How can you bame her tho Hezz? She is beautiful!!! So sweet and innocent *wink wink nudge nudge*

She is a brat with a capital B,Sam! She managed to throw one of those little grass bundles off the gym and onto the floor this morning. She has been getting good at that! But the seedpot, full of seeds and cuttlebone-crumbs, was her 'piece de resistance'
A question for the multiple-budgie owners: do all hens have this saggy-bum look? See photo:
I ask because, to me, she has the same profile as Bluey when he was diagnosed with the abdo tumour. Soon after that I took her in, because I was concerned with her profile, but she was given the all-clear.

Abbies rear end looks a little like that too but it's just the feathers I think.

Yeah, I think so too, Marianne. I poke and prod her ( ) every now and then but nothing feels any different. And she does have a fluffy bum like Dumpy's. I just worry because I didn't see Bluey's as being different. He was different to Sparky's, but not different to Smudge's.

Isn't it funny how once they have found out how to do something destructive, they (for some annoying reason) wish to perfect it?!

Practice makes perfect, Sam! I am sure your mother used to tell you that!
