I've had Romeo and Juliet together with a nesting box for a couple weeks now, and still no eggs or mating. They've been all over the nesting box, chomping down on it everywhere though. Haven't seen either of them go inside. Both are in breeding condition a little over a year. i thought they were bonded, but they seem to be getting less and less interested in each other as time goes on? Also I have my female Hermione is seperate cage next to theirs. Do you think they'll ever lay eggs?

Hi Tulip and welcome to forum Not all budgies bond and breed even if they are together for a while. Post pictures of budgies and breeding setup to see if everything is right.

Although some pairs will produce eggs in about 8 to 10 days, others take over 4 weeks.

Ok, thanks guys. Also, I think Romeo likes Juliet, but she doesn't really like him "that way" back. It's weird, because before I set them up to breed they seemed really lovey dovey to each other and they just seem to be getting less bonded as time goes on... :/. I have a couple of toys, 3 wooden perches, a nestbox, and food bowl for each bird and water bottle in the cage. I've also been giving them 14 hours of light a day, and they are both a little over a year and in breeding condition.
