Hello, I have 2 exhibitionbudgies and they are 1 and 2 years. Some days ago one of them started to behave strange. Something in hos wing was bothering him and he made strange movements with hos body upwards an down. Nothing seems to bee broken. Then the other budgie fell from a high chair on the floor and after that he had problems to fly he stops down. We had him in a hospital cage in a dark space for one night but he missed hos friend so much so we put him back in hos normal cage. He is happy, sings, eat and drink but have problems flying. Made a test over a soft bed and he just sank and could not coordinate the flight. They are now in the cage and we will not let them out for 5-7 days just to rest and heal (tip from our bereder). They are going though a severe mouling but what I fins strange is that both have problems at the same day and are faraos that they have suffered from toxication. What can I do? The vet Said that I should obeserve there behavior. Nothing seems to be broken and I have taken out all food and replaised it with New incase its the food who caused it. The strange thing is that yes they are moulting but that both got problems the same Day is strange. Grateful if someone has experienzed something similar. Thank you!

Marianne Marlow, could you move this thread to budgie health? Sorry I can't help ina, I have never experienced this before with a budgie suddenly unable to fly for no apparent reason. If you think it could be caused by some sort of toxin I would consider airborne toxins before food - a hot teflon pan, anything else that could have teflon in it that gets hot, including the oven or lampshades, aerosol sprays, air fresheners, scented candles, any type of smoke - from wood, incense, blown out candles, cigarettes, etc. Any of these can cause respiratory distress in a bird and/or potentially kill them suddenly, or perhaps cause neurological damage but of that I'm not sure. I hope someone else with more experience can help you out.

Any chance we could see some photos or even a video of the budgies?
