Hello guys.
Just wanted to ask a question on what type of babies I will be getting from this pair of exhibition budgies any advise would be great.
Albino/standard green.
Can’t seem to upload pictures sorry 😞
Kind regards.

Is the hen or cock bird the albino? I think that affects what your possible outcomes may be, as you hen only needs one ino gene to be visual, whereas the cock needs both.

Disregarding anything that the pair may be split for, you should end up with all normal green birds, with any cocks split for albino. It really is a lottery, though, if you don’t know the genetic history of the pair.
I’m not great with genetics, but this was my original thought, backed up by some reading.

Thank you for replying so quickly. I have one more question as well, I have a a violet hen and a green cock paired up nesting what could I expect for them?
I really can’t get my head around the genetics 😂

I’m not even going there. I’d say wait and see. From what I’ve read and been told, unless you know the parentage of the pair, it really is just an educated guess. Try joining a budgie breeders’ assoc. Dedicated breeders will be able to give you more accurate possibilities, I would assume.

I've never got my head around genetics and mutations, but when Shirley and John had their clutch young Henry was nothing like either of them. He had a white face whereas both parents and all siblings had yellow. Clearly a recessive gene thrown back from the grandparents.
