Hi everyone- I am new here and need some help/advice I am a little concerned about one of my budgies "Jerry" I am not sure if this is normal or is it due to a fight with his buddy, they dont really fight so not sure why his eyes lost hair around then and above the nose. attaching photos before and after, the before was just a few weeks ago and this after just started a few days ago the one with him standing on the sofa is from a month ago, the rest are from 2 days ago.

Looks like he is going through a rather heavy moult.

Have you noticed him rubbing his head on the perches or cage bars a lot? He may have just rubbed those feathers off. They should grow back when he's finished molting.

oh yeah he has been doing that, I am seeing some pins coming in around the eyes which I am guessing means hair will grow again

He will be rubbing his head due to the moult, not losing feathers due to the rubbing. The moult will have come first, unless there has been some sort of eye infection which is not the case. New feathers coming through can be very itchy, so offer him the opportunity to bath to soften the keratin sheaths around the new feathers.

Thank you so much. I am seeing his above peak hair start to grow, more pins under his eyes. I got them a bath and they want nothing to do with it sadly, I just use water mister sometimes. They do not like that but oh well, just a bit of rainy water wont hurt

His hair is growing again which is great, but he did something that totally freaked me out today which is he kept chirping and looking at me as if he wanted to fly to me and land on me which he never did before since they are not tamed to me yet after a year.. I thought something was wrong...

I'd take it as a good sign and let him come to you as much as possible. I've notice my two boys do behave differently when they are molting. Its like they feel out-of-sorts and do different things.

No budgie converts immediately to pellets, they don’t see them as a food source. I’d look at adding more fresh veg to their diet as well, and have the pellets only as another food available to them.

You can mix the seed and pellets together. It may help the budgies to think about them as a food source.
