About the same thanks, so I’m ok, but oxygen not really improved. My cough is a proper cough now, I have no idea if junk in your chest affects oxygen
Spoke to my doc, she’s prescribed anti biotic and steroid and I need to call her Friday if sats not better and go back to hospital - although not sure of the point if they’d do what she is. Maybe diff antibiotic. I’m not prepared to stay there again.
In the meantime she’s doing my questionnaire for BUPA, hoping that they’ll accept this is viral pneumonitis and not hypersensitivity (that we know).
I’ve also emailed secretary of private with background of why I’m going on 14th and asking if he’s got anything input wise in case it can help re BUPA
I’m not good in anti biotics, although this one I know I can tolerate
We’ll see

Was it co-amoxiclav? that's the one I always get given. Works but makes me nauseous.

No, the one that was better is Maxofloacin but my gp not able to prescribe it, not sure why. That’s what I had with sepsis plus doxycycline. So I just have that one now.

Depends what bacteria they suspect. Not all antibiotics work on all species of bacteria. Plus a bunch of other factors. If it's just that they're not allowed to prescribe it, possibly it's something that can only be prescribed by a hospital or they don't have the right level of prescriber training, or both.

How frustrating that must be!

It all is, as I’m sure I’d be fine by now if they’d given me meds in hospital. I had stuff to take back to various shops, so did that. Walking rounds is a bit easier, so I’m hoping after 2nd dose steroids later, sats are better as they were in hospital

I hope you continue to feel better today and that the antibiotics and steroids are helping.

picked up the form from GP, scanned and sent to BUPA, with two letters from 2019 and 2020 from my consultant to say no evidence of hypersensitivity pneumonitis - so I am keeping everything crossed they approve this.
otherwise it is a 4 month wait on NHS for him and 2-3 months for chest clinic follow up from hospital - cannot muck about with drugs for that long without knowing exactly what's what.

I hope they approve it for you, but unfortunately there is no cure for hypersensitivity pneumonitis, so they may not accept that it's not that if you had it before.

Just taken me so long to try to split the file as it kept bouncing as too large
Mine had completely cleared by 2017/18 and consultant put it in writing, twice. I think I was extremely lucky as caught it early, and moved Bailey within a week. He said no evidence of it. Thing is that this one is viral, and confirmed as covid induced. Whether that’s true or no, they didn’t mention hypersensitivity.
Unfortunately the word pneumonitis covers too much, so they’ll try to wriggle out
I’ll need to see him just to sort meds etc.
I’ll see what happens 🤞
