Hello everyone,
It saddens me to have to post this but I live in a one bedroom apartment and my two budgies are too loud for the space and the complaints are coming in.
Can anyone help in rehoming two budgies in Oklahoma?
Thank you

I am in Stillwater. It makes me sad and they do what birds do, but for such a small place its too much. I originally rescued them over a year ago and they now have a very nice life, best food, toys and free to fly all day, but the noise is too much. If i can solve the noise issue that would be great but I am out of ideas, I tried to cover them, put a blanket on the cage but this is only fair for like an hour in the afternoon, if i do this all day its not fair to them so i dont do it. If you guys have any ideas of how to reduce the noise and contain it somehow in the cage that would solve this and they can stay happily ever after. I wake them up at 8 am by removing the cover as I put them in the bathroom at night at 8 pm to get quite space and sleep, then they get an hour from 4-5 nap time. They fly when they want and they are good at it they eat viggies, have fresh water each day, have Vita seeds mixed with Harrison's pellets

Are they quiet at night? I’m wondering are the complaints coming in all day, or at certain times? Also has no one complained in the last year?

Yes, I was wondering the same as ffiscool. Are the complaints from just one new neighbor? It sounds like they have a lovely life with you and it would be a shame for them to move to a new home.

Birds, any birds, make noise; that’s what they do. It really would not be fair to try to stop them making noise, so I think your decision is the right one. Most members on this forum are from the UK as the forum is UK-based, so you might be better off trying somewhere else. You might be able to find a Rehome/adopt FB page specific to your general area, or otherwise consult with your vet surgeries as they would, I feel, be more vigilant about where your birds end up.

I have a friend who lives near you. She travels from OK to LA several times a year. If you still need to rehome your budgies, my friend offered to bring them to me. I hope you can find a way to keep them.

I hope you can find a way to keep them. I mean to even offer, how kind of you. I know they like it here a lot vs the life they had locked up for months in a bathroom dark room with crap covering everything in their cage and food not changed for days. I know birds are birds and they make noise, that thought has crossed my mind!!!!! But there is always a resolve for any problem Just need some tricks

Good luck - I hope some how you can work it out. You and your budgies have become a family and should stay together if at all possible.
