Hey so basically what happened is I was taking my bird out her cage to check on her chest because a few feathers fell off and I was wanting to see if she was ok and if they were growing back ok.. and out of pure instinct I put my thumb on her foot to stop her from flying away and she twisted a good 180 degrees and hurt her foot.. ever since then she’s not been using her foot and has been hopping around.. over the days I’ve put coconut oil on it and the bruising is completely gone.. I just can’t figure out weather she’ll recover from this or if it’s a break or a sprain… she’s 1year old by the way..

Please take her to an avian vet. She might be in tremendous pain.

Can you take her to an avian vet to get it checked. If she's not using it she may be in pain.

Issues like this should not be self-diagnosed, how would you be able to tell if a leg is broken?!

My parents called and it depends on what the vet said so most likely it’ll be in the 200s+ and I don’t have the money just laying around… either that or they’ll just suggest me to put her down.. or tell me something I already know.. but she’s eating like normal and doesn’t really care at all…

A vet is not going to put a bird to sleep because of a potentially broken leg. Birds’ legs can heal perfectly well.
