Yesterday evening, I noticed that on two of my budgies' bridges, a couple of the rungs were broken through the middle. My first assumption was that they chewed through it, though since then I've considered that it might've just broke too. I also don't recall if I've ever witnessed either, and I don't know how long it might've been in that condition. It's very possible I might just be paranoid and they never ever chewed on it. I will be taking the bridges out as soon as I get the chance, but are there any other precautions I should take?

More experienced folks will be along at some point but what occurs to me - ensure that perches, toys, etc are all budgie-safe in terms of materials and paint.
I'm not sure where you are based but if it's the UK, folks here would recommend The Natural Bird Product Company (www.naturalbirdco.co.uk) as a good source for replacements.

Cut the tassles short from any rope toys they might have. Always make sure the cage and toys with bells are free from rust. If you are based in the UK, the link loz has given for Natural Bird Co, is a great place to buy safe budgie toys, and parts to make your own toys.

Budgies beaks are made for chewing; that’s what they do, so don’t be surprised to find that the rungs of the ladders have been chewed through. As long as there isn’t any paint on the perches and they are kept clean and poop-free you shouldn’t worry about a little chewing. Parrots’ beaks are like our hair and nails, growing all the time, so a budgie’s beak needs to be kept worn down to allow the bird to eat properly.
