Hi , I would like to know if it is time to put up my birds for breeding.Or is it to cold ,I live in Essex my birds have no heating or lighting in my aviary or small bird room. As this is only my second go at breeding , also do you have to use an older bird with a first timer or can you use two birds that have not breed before, thanks alot Nick

It is better to use an experienced bird with a first timer.
As for the weather, someone from UK will advise you. The warmer, the better in UK. I know Barrie likes to keep his birds at 10°C and not less.

At night you can still get frosts until the end of May even if the daytime seems very warm. If you put boxes in too early, the extra daylight hours and daytime heat will encourage them to breed but then they might suffer during any night frosts.
