Hello everybirdy,
I'm Eyulf. I have 3 adorable feather babies I love to talk about. I have a male and a female torquoise budgie, Sky he's 2 years and a few months old he's a leap year hatch and possible leap day hatch of Feb 29, Blue she's 1 year old she's a May 4th hatch, she had french moult and spent the first few months of her life with no tail or flight feathers her neck was bare the rest of her feathers covered her thinly, Sky was wonderful with her, putting toys on the floor for her and plying with her there. My 3rd budgie is blue and white called Teal, this little one is only a few months old came to me as a chick in need, siblings passed and parents abandoned the nest box, Teal got out of the nest box and was on the ground, and was discovered with a bite to the face, I've raised Teal from an 18 day old chick. I'm currently try to figure Teals gender as the cere is changing color.
Aside from doting on my birds, I do art and craft.

Welcome Eyulf! Thank you for telling us all about you lovely flock. Can we have pictures? Is Teal kept separately from Sky and Blue? Until about six months old it's my understanding that French moult can affect youngsters. I'm no expert though and hopefully someone can come along with reliable advice about this.

Until about six months old it's my understanding that French moult can affect youngsters. I'm no expert though and hopefully someone can come along with reliable advice about this. With Sky being 2 years old and Blue recently turning 1 year old, Blue is well and truly over the french moult, her feathers are full and healthy. She's gone though regular moults smoothly. All three of my budgies are hand raised by me from 16 - 18 days old. I'll post some pictures soon.

Welcome to the forum. Having seen your photos, your budgies are just gorgeous! What sort of craft do you enjoy doing? There are plenty of talented crafters here.

Your budgies sound delightful! Being raised by you, they must all be very tame. Looking forward to seeing pictures.

I draw and paint. I've actually drawn and painted a picture inspired by my flock, it's not quite finished. It's the first time I've done that kind of art in about 2 or so years. I also do digital art, but a computer breakage meant none of that, so also recently got back into that. Craft wise, lately it's been making toys for my birds. I once spent over 4 hours winding jute twine around a hanging pot wire that's about 3 or 4 millimeters thick, it hooks over the curtain rod so they have a window swing and perch. Their own seagrass mat play wall/ tunnel.
Sky just tossed a ball at my feet 😄 I guess he wants to play.
They are all tame, I can pick them up, give their belly a kiss and put them down again.
I've also been trying to get them to talk, I talk and I play videos of recordings of speaking hoping they pick up some words.

Hi all,
I haven't joined and then deserted the forum.
I had an allergic reaction to something, thankfully only hives, but a week later and I'm still getting hives at random. I think I'm beginning to know how a bird feels when their feathers itch.
I got a little freaked out because we get wild birds in the yard and I worried that I might've picked up mites of some kind and brought them into the house and my birds but thankfully that's not the case. My budgies all got a treatment anyway as a precaution they were so good about it.
I tried to upload some photos in my thread for pics of them but the photo site said no today.
Any time I have computer difficulty of any kind I can't help but think of the Little Britain skit and David Walliums character saying "Computer says no." ha ha . I just heard that in my mind.
