They say he is eating and more active. We pick him up tomorrow afternoon …The nurse will show me how they give the meds, but of course they catch him in the incubator and that is bound to be much easier that a cage……

Glad he's perked up. Do you know if his parrotlet friend is still there?

No Marianne he wasn’t there when we went. I imagine the nurse thought I was an interfering old so and so…….because before I would let her put Charlie in the incubator, I set it up just like it was last time he was there….making sure he had his disco ball and bell etc….

I would have thought they would want you to be happy with his set up. As long as whatever you did wouldn't interfere with his recovery, what should it matter?

the good thing I suppose, other than him being perkier and eating, is that he will not have been as scared in the incubator this time. Plus having his toys etc.
glad he is coming home tomorrow. hopefully once he has this lot of meds, that will knock whatever it was on the head..

I'm glad Charlie is doing better. I'm sure he felt much more settled because you set up the incubator for him. It's good that he's coming home tomorrow.

Happy homecoming, Charlie and keep getting better.
I found the first couple of times I had to grab Tweetie Pie were the worst. I was so afraid of hurting him. The next times I could concentrate on what I was doing and getting him the meds with as little fuss as possible.

We are home . Charlie is quiet after the journey. They had already put him in his cage when we got there and couldn’t show us how to give the meds ( three lots) because he has to have them at 5 o’clock . The nurse admitted he was going to be difficult to catch in his cage ! So I am truly appreciate about doing the first one especially as he seems stressed after the journey…….I was hoping his meds would be due in a morning to get it over with……..The suggestion was buy a small cage and keep it empty of anything so he would be easy to catch…….I can’t do that to him for a month 😟…….Wish me luck….

Glad he’s home. Totally get that. Does the top of his cage lift off? Would he stay on his perch so you could get him?

Good to hear Charlie is home. Try not to stress about giving him his meds. You'll get the knack of how to do it. Good luck!

Well we just did it phewwwww. He was easy to catch because he looks shattered. He did squark and I am not sure I got it all down him. He didn’t bite, too tired I think. The hard bit is measuring it out…..0.02 is hardly anything. He is on 0.02 Baytril……0.07 Vorconazole……0.03 Metacam…..for a month….. I have done all I can for him now…

Well done ladybird It sounds like quite an undertaking giving three sets of meds so I'm glad it is all done for today. Hopefully Charlie improves over the next few days.
