Although the budgies and the rabbits will have there own enclosure, I plan on getting some rabbits as I have the [perfect enclosure for them which wasn't really practical for birds for many reasons.
My rabbit enclosure will be outside where as the budgie aviary will be indoors.
The rabbit enclosure will be a good sized balcony that I originally used for growing outdoor plants but seeing that I don't get much sun on it... the plants are always leaning to one side where the sun shines. I'm going to clear all those off and prepare it for the bunny enclosure. I will be putting some wire mesh over the front of the balcony so that there is no risk of the rabbits climbing up and falling off.
The reason way its not suitable for a budgie enclosure is because builders can sometimes show up with scaffolding without any notice and if they came one day they could remove the mesh letting all the budgies escape which would be devastating so as rabbits can't fly the balcony is more suitable for the rabbit enclosure and the rabbits will be put in a secured hutch at night and when I'm not home. I'll be making a wooden frame for the wire mesh and fixing it to the balcony to where it can easily be taken down without wrecking anything.
From my research it seems ok to keep bunnies and budgies where there is nothing that can be passed from one another.
Anybody else keep rabbits?

We had a rabbit, Bubbles, who lived to the grand age of 14 years and 5 months. He was an outdoors rabbit (though had his own wooden playhouse for the winter). Hubby made his run for him but we had a mesh lid on it for a couple of reasons. He was a Netherland Dwarf but boy, could he jump! So I’m not sure how high your balcony is, but bear that in mind. Secondly, we used to get a lot of seagulls and birds of prey so the lid kept him nice and safe from them and the neighbourhood cats. We even had an anti-tunnel skirt to stop foxes but I don’t think you’d need to worry about that on a balcony!

I used to keep rabbits back in the 2000s and had them for 8 years until I moved to a new property where pets wasn't allowed but that no pets policy changed some years later. My rabbits were all rescues, I found a Flemish Giant rabbit wondering about on a railway line in Surrey back in 2004 so I climbed over the fence to rescue it and took it home. I had two other rabbits that I also rescued as unwanted pets that were a mixed breed from Dutch rabbit with something else. I always missed my rabbits.
I'm hoping to get the same breeds of rabbit again Flemish Giants are one of my favorite breeds. I have been visiting some places that might have rabbits to see whats out there.
The balcony will be properly secured.

I've been to a few farms that have rabbits but none were for sale unfortunately. One of the farms had some huge stainless steal grills which would have been perfect for my budgie aviary but they didn't want to sell anything because of health and safety. What a bummer, they literally had everything I needed with plenty of materials just sitting there doing nothing. Oh well.
I've been looking online for rabbits but its mainly Mini Lops and Netherland Dwarf rabbits which isn't really what I'm looking for.
My search will continue, I'm not having much luck.

I’ve had bunnies with parrots for over 20 years without issue, Amazons mostly. You just have to be regular with the cleaning. The ammonia from bunny pee can build up and when they moult there is a lot of fur flying about.
