Hi there! I hope this is the right place to share this. I have two budgies, named Honey and Pumpkin. They have a fairly large cage that they like to relax in but I want to expand it to a bit bigger, since Pumpkin isn't too keen on coming out (she had a really rough past), I want a big cage for her where she can still move around freely. I also really want the cage to have big doors, since Honey, bless his heart, often struggles to find the door (or is suspicious of it, I'm suspecting both!) That way when the door is open, Honey will come out more and Pumpkin will be more encouraged to follow, since she likes to copy what Honey does. Which means they both will fly around in the room more and interact with us more, and hopefully Pumpkin will finally be a little more hand-trained. Honey have no problem with coming out or our hands, he just doesn't like the tiny door.
But the problem is, I'm struggling to find any big cages that have horizontal bars, or bars that aren't big, since I don't want their heads to get stuck between the cages. Does anyone have any recommendations on big cages that fit the criteria of being budgie friendly and has large doors? It seems all the ones I find are more suitable for canaries or are far too small.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you! <3
Here's a picture of Honey ♥ I'm aware that Honey is really a 'she', but we found out that way later so it's just stuck with us!
Pumpkin is more photo shy, sadly. But one day - we have hope!
Here's an old picture of Pumpkin in her old cage that she was adopted with. Poor thing was so shy, she has warmed up so much since then. ♥
