Hi my budgies had 3 chicks last year with no problems. They have just had 3 chicks but each one died within 24 hours. I was in hospital when the first 2 died and home for the 3rd. Could it be the extreme heat at the moment or could it have anything to do with them being alone for 2 weeks with my daughter calling in each day to give them food and water? Or do you have any suggestions. Thanks Bill

Hi Bill
I have no experience with breeding but just wanted to say sorry that you lost your chicks.

Hi billp, same for me. I have no advice but you have my condolences. Very sad that the chicks are lost.

The heat could definitely play a part, especially as your hen would not be prepared for it. The chicks may well have become dehydrated if the hen wasn’t drinking enough herself.
