I thought it would be fun to start a new kind of chat thread. You can talk about anything, but you must first tell us the current temperature in the room you're in I'll start: 32.8C. I am not coping well with this heat. We have all the curtains closed, the budgies hate it and I'm melting. Roll on Wednesday when it's a more human 27C.

32 here too and we have a fan on. It’s giving me a headache and forecast is same for tomorrow. I am going to hospital for an epidural and a nerve block so it should be cold in there……Every Cloud 👍🏻😉

Oh my - that is hot! Alexa told me that is about 91F. Ugh! In my old age, I find that I'm not as tolerant of hot and cold as I was when I was younger. Once it get above 78F (about 25C), I start getting inactive. Right now at around 9am, its not too bad - about 76F (close to 24C) but the weather has that "feel" that it will be much hotter and the forecast does predict a hot day with high humidity. Marianne Marlow I do hope you have fans to help move the air around. Does Eve get cross and miserable in the heat? One of the webinars I attended was given by an avian vet who lives in a hot area of the US. He said birds in the parrot family suffer more from heat than cold. He suggested you could put a little piece of ice in their water dish. Here's hoping everybody does ok in the heat and that it will blow out very soon.

My house is very cool which I don't like in the Winter but I do like it now! 26.5C with a fan blowing. It's likely to be warmer upstairs, it normally is. Chocobo is malfunctioning, she's thrown four of the food bowls onto the floor, five if you count one which I foolishly restocked and put back - which she subsequently threw on the floor again. The flock has been minimum exertion today, which I approve of. The chippy finished the porch ceiling off plus some oddments in the garage so I'm ready for the plasterer. I've rubbed down the flooring under the three bookcases so I just need to address under the birdcages. Tomorrow most likely! I'm hungry but don't have an appetite. Not sure how that works!

I haven't got a clue Marianne as I don't have a thermometer.
I closed all the windows and blinds around 2pm, and they're still closed, so the house is not boiling.
The temperature outside at the minute according to my phone is 31° So an unpleasant night methinks.
The boys enjoyed being out for a little while today, I put an umbrella up for them, and me, when it got a bit too hot.
Stay safe everyone.

27.7 at the moment. Wow loz, I am jealous at your 26C. Best we could manage with a fan and an air cooler in the living room was almost 33C. The budgies hated us shutting all the curtains and they didn't fly about a lot (probably a good thing) We're in for more of the same today, but it should be a little more windy and then hopefully back down to 27C tomorrow.

Downstairs is cool, we have glass in the conservatory that keeps heat out in summer and you could sit in here pleasantly even at 32deg. My car said 35 deg and so far this morning it is 29 deg outside and I'm going for coffee!!! well hot chocolate as I don't drink tea or coffee.
I did have a fan on in the bedroom last night it was 28 deg upstairs.

I found it really helped closing all the windows and blinds early afternoon, the house last night was bearable.

I’m not sure what it is in here, but I had 2 fans on me all night. Even now it’s way too hot, I’ve got my windows shut and curtain across but may sit on my bench for a bit as there’s a breeze and that’s still in the shade.

Currently 28 degrees in this room.
Blinds closed since morning. Cardboard up against the window at the lower part when blind doesn't reach (cos of all my toot). Curtains drawn across halfway (string lights prevent them closing in the middle). Another piece of material pegged between the curtains to catch any escaping light.
Fan on with iced water bottle in front of it. Fan directed at buds. Unfortunately not enough space in their cages for me to sit & take advantage of it...

I'm melting!!!! 34 degrees outside and 30 in the room. I've been sat in the dark with the curtains closed all day 'working'. My husband has abandoned me for the luxury of an air conditioned office. I'm not impressed 🤣.
The budgies look hot and bothered. They kept flying around yesterday and Barney was all thin with his wings held out. I kept telling him he was stupid but he wouldn't listen.

ladybird I am sorry to hear that your op has been cancelled. Have they given you an idea of when it will be rescheduled? I hope you don't have long to wait.
