Alexa is lying to you. Don't believe her.
Lock her in the trunk of your car and then take a drive into the woods. You'll know what to do next.

I've just watched Smudge playing with a shreddable today. Eeyore was perched close by. In Smudge's eagerness to destroy the hated shreddable enemy, she start inadvertently whacking Eeyore with her tail. Eeyore put up with it for a couple of seconds and then wandered off.
Any prizes for guessing what would have happened if the roles were reversed?

Well, as above, if she takes her Dadday's advice on a certain situation involving Alexa, Smudge will take poor Eeyore under her wing, lead him out to Dadday's car, pinching car keys on route, pop him in the boot and drive to the woods, she knows what to do when they get there

Just in case

It’s ok, I have an overactive imagination, that or I’ve read too many Beatrix Potter stories to the children over the years, I often imagine my Jasper in a little waistcoat reprimanding the little ones. Hopefully Smudge isn’t like my Mabel who is into toe biting the boys just for the fun of it atm 🤦🏻♀️

I thought all hens bit toes? maybe it's just mine.
Mind you, Daisy is the worst of the hens at the moment, she will knock a budgie to the floor of the cage, but when I look over she's all sweetness and light as if it was not her.

If I see toe-biting, I am all over it. It's one thing I absolutely won't tolerate.

I agree, it's a mean habit. If I see toe-biting, I am all over it. It's one thing I absolutely won't tolerate.

I once went into our bird room and saw Basil, Griffin, and Topaz sitting on one perch. Thunder was sitting on a nearby perch, across from them. He was loudly chirping and looking from side-to-side, as if giving the others a speech or lecture.

I wonder what the lecture was about I once went into our bird room and saw Basil, Griffin, and Topaz sitting on one perch. Thunder was sitting on a nearby perch, across from them. He was loudly chirping and looking from side-to-side, as if giving the others a speech or lecture.

Another example of why I never want to work at a pet store again. I've mentioned that I briefly worked at one in the late 2000s, before I was interested in birds.
One manager thought he had this incredible idea: He bought a roll of thick, strong paper towels. He said they were so durable, we could use just one to wipe out all the animals' food dishes every day. The same paper towel would be all over the birds' dishes, the ferrets', mice, reptiles, bunnies, etc. Same with the water dishes. Even back then, I knew this might be unsanitary. However, the manager just thought he was a genius for buying these paper towels. I quit very soon after.

I've sanded the bit of wall in the kitchen affected by budgie-bites and put the first coat of paint on it. A second coat can go up this evening. Budgies are of course excluded from the kitchen today and tomorrow, and on Monday I will have to observe how the hens react. In other news, I had to rescue Herman. I had failed to tuck the lounge curtain out of the way next to the forage gym and he managed to get a claw stuck. It should have been easy to extricate him (either by me or himself) but he panicked and wasn't helped by Smudge "helping". No harm done (I hope! Herman seems OK if a little subdued) but I must make sure I have no repeats of sloppy curtain-opening in future.

I acquired a woodpecker the day before yesterday. It lives in the cages with the budgies but I could never see it, only hear it. I heard it again, just now.
STOP PRESS: please ignore, it is Squeak, smashing the hell out of a cuttlefish bone. The mystery woodpecker had been driving me mad!
