I have been meaning to touch base on here and post a couple of updates.....
Sadly, my little Harold passed at the beginning of July. I need to write in fields of millet for him, bless him
I do miss him, he was a funny little boy who made me laugh all the time.
The aviary is getting bare....and I keep saying 'no more' but I did see a post on my local rspca website and they had two budgies who had been living in squalor. Their previous owner had moved house and just left them. I felt the old heart strings tug and next thing I'm on the phone and I've rehomed them. The rspca called them Boris and Doris....the former I think I'd like to change but haven't come up with another name yet. They've settled in beautifully. They were paired but Boris is getting very friendly with Sacha, two boys chirping away to each other all day long.
I'd considered fostering dogs until they found their forever homes but then went against the idea as I'm still so upset at losing Alfie and Lexie, however a local dog charity made an urgent plea for a new Foster home for a 15 Yr old staffy Cross called penny. She has a heart murmur and seizures and they didn't want her in their kennels, and she is so old they wanted her remaining days to be happy. So.....I applied, was accepted and a few days later went and collected Penny. Hubby is completely smitten, I love her to death. We have to keep her away from other dogs as she barks at them and gets worked up, which raises ber heart rate and can bring on a seizure. So we are walking her first thing and last thing each day. We are training her to stay away from the aviary, she likes to look at the budgies but sometimes barks at them, so that's challenge in progress. She is getting better with them.
Ive also returned to work last week in an admin role, only 2 days but I was shattered. Still, was good to be back and into a routine. Health wise I've got a biopsy on my womb soon as something sint right on a scan with it. It's gone as urgent so hopefully will get to the bottom of it all and get sorted.
Hoping everyone and their buds are okay - sending love to all 💙
