I was so sad to hear on the radio yesterday that Judith Durham had died on Friday 5th August.
I loved the Seekers when I was young, and still do. I have several LP records of theirs, (I hear the young saying "what are LP records") ๐
Rest In Peace Judith, you gave me many hours of happy listening.

I heard about this on Twitter. RIP Judith Durham.
I was never into The Seekers, I am more of an Alice Cooper fan from that era. Guilty listening pleasure though - The New Seekers, a song called "Anthem". I couldn't admit that for 20 years but I am cool with it now ๐

Marianne, I still have my 45's record case full of singles.
I think the first single I bought was Mouldy Old Dough, by Lieutenant Pigeon.
There are 2 new radio stations called BOOM RADIO and BOOM RADIO LIGHT which I'm loving at the minute.
Even the birds like some of the music on here.....Good taste my boys ๐๐

Thread drift is always a risk.
My first single was from the BBC of all people, the signature tune to the drama series, Quiller.
The first album I bought ... I believe it was Relayer, by Yes.

I remember them and liked them. Sad though sheโs died.
My first two singles were Honey by Bobby Goldsboro and Mrs Robinson by Simon and Garfunkel

I don't think I know any of their music, but it's sad that she has died. jellybean my first single, a 45, was Edge of Heaven by Wham! My first poster was Wham! Club Tropicana. Vinyl records are all the thing now once more. Even cassettes are being made again! I reckon a collection like yours is probably worth a few pennies jellybean. Iโm a bit of a technophobe and still love my CDs and the good old radio. Iโve never streamed music although I occasionally listen to podcasts. I see Olivia Newton John has passed away too.

I saw that as well. ariella. Iโm sure it will be all over our news tonight. I didnโt know it at the time, but my primary school music/choir teacher must have been a Seekers fan, and very โwith itโ then to have bought the sheet music and lyrics to play and teach to us little kids. Fancy trying to explain the concept of having to buy the music and lyrics of a favourite song to a teen or younger?

So sad about Olivia Newton-John, I read that she had several incidences of cancer, she must have had a very hard struggle ariella I had a club tropicana poster too. I remember them singing wake me up before you go go on top of the pops.
