How old is he? Have you changed his diet at all? Is it just stuck to his feathers or covering his vent? Pictures would help if you can show us some. It will need to be removed if it is building up…..is he tame?

Hi thank you for quick reply He is 11 months old He is hand tame in that he will sit on my hand & let me stroke him but he does not come out of his cage because my room is not bird friendly .l play with him in his cage..I think it is just stuck to feathers as I have seen him poo & there is poo in cage .

If he is still pooing normally it would seem it’s just some stuck to his feathers. You could try and gently remove it . Let us know how you go on. Would love to see some pictures of Billy please.

What is his diet like? Have you changed it recently? That is not a normal looking poo, but it could be something he is eating or a sign he isn’t well. Can you put a picture of Billy .

Is the temperature still high, is the humidity low? Changes in temp can cause birds to try to overcompensate and it is possible tha he is a bit dehydrated. Also possible that he hasn’t been eating properly, hence the green poop. I wouldn’t think this would be the problem, but it is possible.
Have you changed his diet recently? Any dietary changes should be done slowly so that their digestive system has time to adjust. If he is eating his fresh veg, stop it for a day or two and see if his poops return to normal. If they don’t look normal after feeding him only seed, you will need to think about having him checked out by a vet.

Hi Billy seems to have nearly got over his problem.I think it could have been the heat he did not like it even though we had fans on. Please can I ask for advice on probiotics ? I have bought some Vetark Avipro avian.it is a powder you can put a pinch on food I would like your views on whether it is a good idea to give him it once a week. Thank you

So pleased to read that Billy is doing better.
I don’t know the product you mention, but a little probiotic is generally considered a good thing especially as Billy has had something going on with his digestive tract. Another thing that can be very helpful is a couple of drops of apple cider vinegar in the drinking water. It helps keep their crop healthy, they can’t have a healthy digestive system if they don’t have a healthy crop. Three drops in 100mls of water is enough, and can be added every day or several times a week.

I use the avipro avian it's soluble, you put it in water. My birds get it twice a week, it was recommended by an avian vet for my Billy who has liver and kidney issues and drinks a lot of water. It's the avimix that you sprinkle on food.

Regarding your question on trying dried fruits, if he won’t eat fresh, I doubt you will have any success with dried. I’ve never had any luck with dried, and my birds have always been good eaters.
Do keep persevering with the fresh food but concentrate more on veg rather than fruit as they don’t need the added sugar and can send them a bit bonkers. Carrot, sweet corn, snow peas and broccoli are the ones most people have success with, and if you can access any fresh seeding grass, that is their absolute favourite.
