Sam, and sometimes Olly, likes to nestle down in the seed container sometimes which looks very sweet but means seed goes everywhere when he gets out. I was wondering about getting a couple of coconut 'nests' or similar and putting some of the dried grreens in to act as snackage or bedding. They are quite happy to snooze on their perches and on the top of the swing, sometimes one of them will even get onto t he swing but very occasionally they like to schnuggle down on the seed. Thought please and thank you. Meanwhile I am off to meet two cousins and their hubbies who are over from Canada, I haven't seen one cousin for over 30 years, I managed to get out to a local shope yesterday- by taxi- so I am feeling braver today than usual but still nervous. I will put my big girl pants on and get out there...ttfn.

I Hope you have a lovely day out.
Don't know about the coconut shell, and I've never given any of mine dried greens so can't comment, I always think fresh is best.

Jumping into the seed pots is usually a young bird thing, possibly memories of being in a nest box and trying to replicate that feeling. They don’t normal do this once they have matured, unless of course you have a hen who has decided to nest. I wouldn’t provide them with anything, but I would look at seed pots that they can’t get into.

Thanks Hezz and Jellybean, I did think Sam had got passed this stage but obviously he felt the need to have a schnuggle again ! The cage I have doe hav 'sheilds' for the seed and water to stop poop etc getting in but it is higher up than the trays themselves, I will just wait for him to realise that sitting on seed isn't fun when it sticks to you
