I have read about sproutingsoaking seeds on here and elsewhere as being good for budgies and I wondered if this mix is a good one..
Ingredients
Tic Beans, White Peas, Wheat Grain, Soya Bean, Popcorn, Brown Rice, Green Split Peas, Yellow Split Peas, Marrow Fat Peas, Chick Peas, Aduki Beans, Mung Beans, Pinto Beans, Blackeye Beans, Haricot Beans, Barley Grain, Red Split Lentils, Puy Lentils
Preparation Guide
Soak for 12 hours in boiled water.
After soaking rinse thoroughly.
You can feed raw or soften further by boiling in a pan or microwave.
Rinse under cold water and leave to cool, then feed- It can be kept for 3-4 days after soaking. Keep in fridge. If cooked completely can be frozen.
This is Tidymix Pulse & Rice Soaking Mix for Parrots from Northern Parrots.
They also sell a Sprouting mix for Parrots with the following ingredients..
Ingredients Buckwheat, Lentils, Brown Rice, Mung Beans, Pumpkin Seed, Oats.
Although I am now giving the boys Haiths Bravo I am still mixing it into the Trill they had, albeit the ratio between Haiths and Trill is now much more in Haiths favour !, I am struggling a little getting them to eat certain veg and definately fruit.
Carrot grated/thinly sliced/chunky sliced/strip they try and then ignore although they do sometimes look at it again later in the day. Parsley stalks and cress they adore at the moment, sweetcorn - i defrost frozen - is as scrumptious but if I put defrosted peas into it they are tried then left. I put thinly sliced rounds of carrot into a bowl for them this morning and Sam tried some then chucked some out, I am still not sure if that is good or bad so I added the last of the Parsley stalks I had together with the last cress I had and that went down well. Maybe they don't like the colour orange lol.
I want to try them on chop too, I know not to try them with too much too quickly, and was wondering what in earth I could put it in and decided on the bottom of a bath they won't use. I think there is a recipe for chop in the pinned post.
Anyhoo, over to you my lovelies any thoughts and ides appreciated.
