Toby seems a bit under the weather at the moment. All three have been quiet the last few weeks as they are moulting sensationally. Some mornings though Toby seems tired, fluffed up and he's vomiting. Other times he seems ok if not singing as much as normal. We went to the vet last Tue and they could find nothing worrying. He's a healthy weight, they checked a poo under the microscope, looked at the contents of this crop, no suspicious lumps or bumps.
This morning he just wants to come and sit with me and is clearly feeling rough. I'm tempted to set up the vision and bring him up into the office so I can watch him through the day. I don't think he'll be too bothered being away from the other two. I'm weighing him regularly to monitor that. What else should I do? Any suggestions?
Door to the vet is obviously open if I want to go back but at the moment I haven't got anything else I can tell them.

Is Toby receiving Guardian Angel or similar supplements? Might help. It's a good idea to have him with you throughout the day. Feel better soon, Toby!

Do you think Toby's problem is moult related? If so, perhaps give him some Calcivet? Alternatively, you could try giving him Guardian Angel. Make sure he continues to eat (properly, not fake-eating). The regular weight check is a very good thing to do. Bit concerned about the vomiting though. Perhaps apple cider vinegar for that?
Hope he feels better soon.

Thanks you both. I've had guardian angel in the water yesterday and today. I will separate him this evening I think, but leave the cages adjacent to one another and bring him up with me during the day so I can keep a closer eye.
I wondered about the apple cider vinegar. I've only given it once before and after drinking it is the only time I've ever seen Barney vomit so I've been cautious about using it.
Maybe I will just order some of everything! I assume I can't give guardian angel calvcivcet at the same time?

I think you might be able to give guardian and and calcivet together - check on the bottles/containers as they usually say. I hope he's better soon x

Have you given him anything new to eat recently, added egg to his diet since they are molting, perhaps? Did you run out of seed and bought a new batch? Some are just more sensitive than others to minor infections. He might have a low level infection in his crop that didn't show up on a swab. I would think GA would boost his immune system and help him fight off any minor things. When they molt, their immune systems are a bit lower. Hope he kicks whatever it might be soon.

I hope it's just a bad moult and nothing to worry about blueelephant.

I had the same experience with Nubby and wondered whether it was moult or weather change related?
As the weather suddenly went quite cold it must have been a bit of a shock for the little guy. I always make sure I keep Guardian Angel in stock at this time as this is the time they can get under the weather.
After giving it to him for a couple of days (usually 3 max) he seems fine.
He also quiets down when it's grey weather too.
Hope you're little fella is alright and gets better xx

Thank you all. He's been in the vision since last night and upstairs with me today. He's seemed better than I was expecting. No vomiting today, not sleeping lots and not all fluffed up either, if a little quiet. He even had a few little singing sessions while I was in meetings and was excited to come back downstairs next to the other boys this afternoon. So all in all not a bad day. I will probably keep him upstairs for a few more days and see how he goes.
I did wonder about the change in the weather. They have all had a massive moult and it's not warm in the house. I've not had the heating on because I don't need it and it's so expensive, but I did relent yesterday and switch it on to see if it would perk them all up! It's been warmer today so maybe that's partly why he seems happier. I need to crochet them all little jumpers...

We want to see them modeling those little jumpers! Seriously, glad he's doing better.

I’m glad Toby is perking up. My lot are moulting big time. Poor Jasper looks as if she’s been dragged through a hedge backwards.
