Maybe a silly thing to ask in a budgie breeding forum but I dont want my budgies to breed. I wouldn't know what to do if they produced eggs. Cloudy's cere is just starting to turn brown which I know means shes coming into breeding condition. Should I keep Jamie in a different cage for a while? Or will the fact that they dont have a nest-box stop them breeding?

Budgies will not breed until provided with a proper breeding setup. A hen may lay an egg or two even without a male or nest box, but nothing to worry about. Cage setup should be in a way which does not stimulate breeding. Did your budgie lay eggs? Post pictures of your setup so we maybe able to spot anything which can stimulate breeding.

no, no eggs yet. The only thing I can think of that might be a problem is the open seed and water pots. I have two cages, they dont tend to end up in the same cage every night, just who is in what cage when I go to shut the doors as they are out most of the day. Will post pics shortly.

Then nothing to worry at all, especially if they keep using the cages randomly

Beautiful cages I don't see any reason why they should start breeding in these cages. Where are the little one though
