Loulou seems to have better balance this morning, and is somewhat able to preen and move around the cage. He's still very tired but he's eating and drinking. His vent looks worse than it did the other day and his stool is now slightly brown. I think its because he's been struggling to eat and drink properly for the last couple days. He hasn't touched his greens since before the incident. Is there anything I can do to assist in his diet? The Guardian angel thing is supposed to arrive today but I think its more of a rehydrater

I would suggest AviPro, a vitamin supplement that can be dissolved in his drinking water. It might be just me but I would use bottled water (still) rather than tap water. Aside from that, I would just allow the GA and rest to help your boy heal. I'm glad he's showing signs of recovery.

I've ordered some AviPro, should arrive tomorrow. I've noticed that he's sitting on the perches almost vertically. Is that expected from a recovering bird?

It might be that vertical is less painful for him while he heals. I wouldn't be concerned by that, I worry more when they are sitting stretched horizontally. Is he fluffed up?

He is fluffing up, but he isn't sleeping with his head tucked in. To clarify what I mean by "vertically", it almost looks like he's sleeping upside down, as he bends over so far that his head is below the perch and his tail up

Oh, that doesn't seem normal. I've never heard of a budgie sleeping that way. I think we'd all like pics of your budgie to help you access what is going on.

FYI: Maybe 10 minutes or so ago, he was apparently strong enough to fly out of the hospital cage and climb back into the main cage. I decided that I'd let him eat and drink there real quick because he is much more familiar with where things are, before putting him back, but I was pleasantly surprised to see he was capable of doing that. The cages are quite a distance apart, so I hope its an indication of strength coming back, but then i see him bent over like this, very sleepy, and I'm concerned again

I would try to confine him to the hospital cage still but it's encouraging that he was able to rejoin his friends that way. Budgies seem to try to "carry on regardless" even when their best bet is to rest-up. He'll recover better on his own, I reckon.

I hope its just how he copes with the injury and not some deeper medical issue. Annoyingly, the GA still hasn't arrived, and I wont be able to try the AviPro until tomorrow.
I hope I have time

I suspect the odd posture just feels better for him. I would put it to the back of your mind for now. I'm sure you will have the opportunity to employ the AviPro and the GA. Being positive is best for you and for your feathered friend.

The AviPro arrived and I have distributed it in the water.
The bad news though is that Loulou's stool has become very liquidy. I'm now sure there's an underlying issue.

Did the liquidy stool appear before or after Loulou started drinking water with AviPro? I assume before as you've only just been able to offer the AviPro.

I don't know what to suggest. Watery stool will often be the result of meds but clearly this isn't the case here.
