Anxiously awaiting the news of the arrival of your new friend! I know you've still got 1 1/2 weeks to wait but I'm still waiting on pins and needles. Have you gone to see the baby again? Will you go to pick him up or will the breeder bring to you? How are things going with you?

We haven’t been to see baby again but breeder keeps sending me photos. Still 99% it’s a boy but will definitely know before the next week and half is up. He will be handling him to get him used to being touched. Yes we will want to go and pick him up.. We have cleaned the cage and bought new toys and perches. That’s been really difficult for me and I am constantly in tears…..and still keep thinking I can hear Charlie shouting for me…….It’s dreadful coming home and not hearing him shouting hello. And I miss his swearing too….. We think we have chosen a name for baby…..but still open to suggestions. I am excited and weepy all at the same time….I miss his cuddles round my neck 😢

Sadness and anticipation are strange emotions to feel at once, I know. And you'll know what your new baby is called when you bring him home, I'm sure. Did you get in touch with Karen at Natural Bird?

I can imagine it must have been hard to clean Charlies cage and change all the stuff inside. You will always have the good times you had with charlie in your heart. He's still with you.

I cam imagine how quiet your house is without Charlie. You'll love the new boy, differently and with joy as you see him develop.

I got broody within about a week after Munchy, despite having four others. I made it to a month before I just had to go and look at some budgies, and it's not really much of a surprise that Aster came home with us.
I'm so sorry for your loss, nothing could ever replace such a special budgie as Charlie, but I'm glad that you've found a new baby to bond and grow with who'll get to experience a wonderful loving home.

It must have been hard cleaning and clearing Charlie’s cage out. It must be so strange, without him chattering. But although different, it won’t be long before you have chirping and hopefully new words to hear.
We never forget our little pals, they always are in our hearts, but the teaching of a new one, will help the pain ease.

I lost the last of my 4 wiener dogs and said NO MORE. I was lonely and decided to give parakeets a try. I am so glad I did and I know my Prudence Leigh would not have wanted me to be sad. I love them lil feezers they are clowns like my wiener dogs made me so very happy.

Thank you all. Yes I miss Charlie so very much, I still keep thinking I hear him shouting for me……… I do have to admit I am slightly worried that I won’t get that bond with the new baby or him with me……… I am soon to find out, he may be ready to come home at the weekend……We still can’t decide on a name. He will be very loved I am sure. I am sure it’s possible to grieve and love at the same time….

It’s Definitely possible to grieve and love at the same time, I actually thought that I would never ever get anymore birds so I do t have to go through the same heartache and pain of losing them, but after a few months I realized that the love and joy that their company offers is definitely worth every minute of sadness, not to mention the loving life that we can hopefully offer them, I truly believe that they save us as much as we save them, I definitely need my little buds maybe more than they need me ❤️🐥🙂

Plus as you’re there all the time, he will be a single. It’s definitely possible to love and grieve at the same time. Charlie is probably saying lucky budgie, having what I had. Have you a shortlist of names?

the name keeps changing…..The breeder sent me another picture today and insists on calling him CLM ( cheeky little monkey) and when you see his picture it will become clear why………. I have a few other names but Clem has now come in the running lol…. He might come home in the next few days . His cage is ready. ……All three babies are male but CLM was mine straight away…… I think I know the name he just has to have……🤔

Aww, a cheeky little monkey sounds perfect. Maybe he could be Chico for cheeky, if you don’t go with Clem or another.
When I was sent pics of Max, by the breeder, his name just came to me. No idea where from.
