So.. went to see the babies today. All healthy beautiful birds.. all pieds and one definate male the other two not so sure of.. they have pink Ceres but slight whitening around the nostrils.. so with pieds that can also mean male?? I'm wanting a boy.. less bitey and more potential to become talkers.. Issue is the other two were less skittish. Both stepped onto my hand with little fuss.. The definate male was more skittish (climbed over the others to get away from my hand, whilst the others just sat).. although he did seem fine to be away from the group a bit. I'll share the pics I have below and let me know your thoughts? Thanks

So very cute! I wouldn't assign too much to whether they sat willingly/for a long time on your finger. Once you separate the baby from the flock to take home, you may find that changes. At least they are not fearful of your hand.

I know this thread is almost a year old, but in case anyone else is reading, I want to respectfully point out that no bird is guaranteed to talk. No gender or species. We have four male Budgies (we didn't go looking for all males) and none of them talk. They are joyful, interesting little companions and we love interacting with them. Talking is cute if it happens, but I don't think it should be a main reason to choose a certain gender/species (or a main reason to get a bird at all).

You are quite right AzaleaIt's a myth that boys are better talkers or more likely to talk. The majority of us, first and foremost, just want happy and healthy budgies, regardless of gender.
