I spent a good ten minutes negotiating with Dinku last night at budgie bed time. He was sitting on the top of the vision cage, looking down at the open door while I talked to him. I was trying to get him to go in to bed. He had the look of "yes that is all very interesting, but I think I'll just wait right here". Occasionally he'd turn his head and look at the door as if he was about to go in, but then relax again. I tried to get a photo but for some reason it didn't come out When I turned to walk away and sweep the floor, he flew in to bed!

Dinku was waiting for a better offer, which apparently was not forthcoming!

He is. He has such an intelligence in his eyes too. I get the feeling that he understands everything I say. He's such a handsome boy.

It must be the phase of the moon or something because my two were also reluctant to go in at bedtime. Tweetie Pie is usually in the cage and Buddy perched on top. I clean up the food bowls and put fresh food in the cage. Buddy then flies in and I close the door. Last night, both were on top of the cage while I did that. I sat at the computer for a few minutes and thankfully they both went in.

Toby I often negotiate with. Barney does what he is told. He's a good boy and he tells me so often 😂.
Dinku was probably contemplating some significant philosophical theory...

Loki gets a part of a peanut for bed, he’s easy; the boys can’t wait for me to come back in from blowing the husks off their bowls and topping up their seed. It is the only time they get seed and most of the time they are sitting beside their respective food pots waiting for them to be put back in. They are surprisingly good at keeping to what they have collectively decided are their own individual pots and not flitting back and forth to find out i his is better than mine.
