Since no one else posted a thread on this topic, I thought I might just start one in case people wanted to post (non political) thoughts. Mostly in the US, we are by-standers watching the events as they unfold. Not unexpected, the US media are reporting on the trivial - what all the women are wearing. Who's dressed best and worst in their opinion.
Hope I'm not offending anyone.

I shouldn't think that would offend anyone. I expect the daily mail are also reporting on what people are wearing I watched a little bit of it. Bet Charles and Camilla and a few others will be glad to put their feet up and have a drink.

I recorded it and fast forwarded a lot. I was interested in the Wales family. I think we are very good at all the pomp and ceremony. Putting on a great show. Actually a formation of about 5 helicopters flew over me, en route as I think they came from RAF Northolt which is about 20 minutes from me.
They flew ahead of the Red Arrows
Looking forward to the concert tomorrow night.

I watched and enjoyed the historical aspect mostly. The throne…oh I’d love to lay a hand on it and just feel the history that runs through it, plus the ceremonial spoon - the only item remaining from the 12th century, one of my favourite medieval periods. I loved the dress Camilla had with her children and grandchildren’s names and the two dogs embroidered into it. The Wales family are just so lovely. It must be an emotive thing to watch the Coronation knowing they will be next and George after them. Had to chuckle at the feather on Princess Anne’s hat.

The feather- in lots of photos, it blocked Harry’s face
Yes very odd to know you’ll be next etc. I thought Charles was SO pale (understandably), going in, but got back colour after

Bit like the candle in front of Meghan at the Queen’s funeral. Probably not orchestrated but it did make me chuckle. Yes, Charles was very much feeling the emotion of it all. I did love the moments between him and William and the smile between him and Camilla once the crowning was done and they were sat back side by side.

I expect Charles didn't sleep much the night before, hence looking a bit pale and tired. Maybe all the music and song perked him up.

Yes, the candle was funny too
I know it’s been a long time and Camilla helps and supports him so much, but I’m not a fan of either of them. But it is what it is.
Love William and Kate

I noticed that they did not show Harry much. I would have been interested to see if he was singing God save the King.

I think that Charles and Camilla seem to have a genuine relationship. I'm a fan of that, at least.

I enjoyed the history of it too ariella. The throne was amazing and the St Augustine Gospels - Britain's oldest book - from the 6th century. It's incredible that at 1400 year old book exists. I enjoyed all the fanfares and the parades. The horses were wonderful. And the three cheers that the regiments gave in the grounds of Buckingham Palace was impressive too.

I would say it was a success all round. The fans didn’t seem to let the weather dampen their joy, the parades were amazing, even the protestors were allowed to have their area to express their views, all without anything spoiling the Coronation. With the way many protests have gone recently, I am so relieved that no groups or a lone wolf tried to anything to create upset or spook the horses. Must be one of the events where everyone involved gives a ginormous sigh of relief once it is over - from security, the armed forces, courtiers and the royal family themselves, and no doubt other people we don’t even know about who are manning close watches on terrorist cells and so on. We’ve certainly had a lot of royal events in the past few years with royal weddings, The Platinum Jubilee, The Queen’s Funeral and now the King’s Coronation. As much as I have enjoyed them all, I hope they have a period of stability and no big events (with so much organisation and pageantry required) for a good few years.

I thought the watering can over The Eden Project was lovely and it was great how much the environment featured in the concert. I also learnt a couple of facts I didn't know about King Charles.
