Hi all, I hope you are all well and, for those of you in the UK like me, have found somewhere cool! I want to give the boys some Pak Choi and I am sure I read a post from someone saying that their budgies also like to rub their heads in it to get the water on them. im guessing that a whole Pak Choi would not be the best thing to put in the cage so are 3/4 leaves ok ? Ta muchly !

I've never given pak choi and have not checked if it is a safe food. But if it is then yes sure, peg a few leaves up in their cage

A quick search of my usual sites - they all say pak choi is safe for budgies.

After hiding on the other side of the cage for a few minutes, Sam made his move and pecked at both the leaves and the stalk. Olly, having seen that Sam didn’t keel over backwards, then joined him but it was just for a few nibbles. They are now on the top of their swing discussing this new green thing. As they seem to enjoy floppy food I will leave it in and see how it goes !

Did they have any more nibbles of the foreign green stuff? A little but they were more interested in the stalk I think ! I will keep trying with it though.

Stalks are the best bit of anything, apparently! Except for bell peppers, of course.

I gave my little guys some home-grown baby spinach yesterday - a few extra leaves out of my own lunch - and Spyro thought I had put them there for him to shimmy all over and clean himself!! This is Spyro who baths about never; more baby spinach coming up. (There were a few extra nibble holes later on so nibble must be allowed to happen to the ‘bathtub’.)
