The boys seem fine but I am a sweaty Betty !!
The window is open with voile curtains pulled across as I get the morning sun in my living room, communal heating is a cool air fan in the summer and I have a desk fan going. It’s 29.5c in the living room and I have a cold flannel on my neck and a towel to mop up the sweat, sounds delightful doesn’t it 🫠🫠 Roll on Autumn and Winter !

According to vet experts, budgies can't dissipate heat very well. Watch for signs that the budgies may be too hot such as panting and/or holding their wings away from their bodies. Temperatures above 32C could be too hot for them. Giving them a shallow dish with room temperature water to bathe in can help or a spritz of room temperature water can help.
I hope it doesn't get too hot for you.

Prothall has just informed me that he can maintain his own temperature and that I am to stop squirting him. I have passed on your contact details, tweetiepiesmom as he wants a word.

It was 29.7C in my living room today. I left water out for everyone - Chipper was the only one to bathe.
I misted George, Peter and Penny.
Penny didn't like it.

I had the fan on most of the day, have to turn it off occasionally as it’s only a small one and isn’t meant to be run continuously, and pointed it at the boys when needed. They were cooler than me ! I gave them a bath in the cage but they just drank from it so I have ordered cheap one that fits to the side of the cage, I wanted a shallower dish for fresh food anyway but I just need to replace the screws and wing nuts as I doubt they are stainless steel. They were a little lethargic over the last few days but that perfectly understandable and I made sure that the fresh food was wet to encourage them to get more water into them. The temp in my flat has gone down to 27c which is a relief for all three of us 😆
