None of our birds - Budgies, Cockatiels, and Sun Conure - like fruit. Sprite, the Sun Conure, eats dried fruit chunk treats. Nothing fresh. By contrast, our two deceased Green Cheek Conures liked every fruit!
I know they need vegetables more than fruit, but I want to have another treat option besides millet and a few extra seeds. (Based on comments in another thread, I've started adding a small portion of seeds to their pellet food.)

My budgies tend to prefer foods that aren't too high in water content. The apples coming from my garden at the moment are quite dry compared to the ones I have bought from the shop but nonetheless, there's little interest - maybe a bit of shredding. I have to offer apples as the chocobo likes them! She also likes pears but her interest comes and goes with those. No other fruit has ever elicited any interest at all amongst the Flock. (I get evil looks from Chocobo if I offer her banana.)

You could try small pieces of nuts, walnuts come highly recommended, I think because they are not so sweet and still contain all the added extra goodness that all nuts have. They are also the nut that is the easiest to break up into small pieces due to their brain-like structure. I tell my sunny itโs his brain food for the day. For the budgies, try a small amount of crushed mixed nuts mixed with their pellets and seed. They need to recognise them as a food source first.

All of our birds like the shredded/"match stick" carrots. I sometimes buy those if I am feeling lazy. I just chop them in halves or thirds, and the pieces are a good size for everyone.
