I intend for this post to be amusing. I was just thinking about what I've "learned"...haha...from some other bird owners. Not anyone at this forum, but other forums, social media, etc.
~ Owning a Cockatoo or Macaw species makes you smarter than people with smaller birds. You are the ultimate authority. You don't waste time playing with Budgies and Cockatiels.
~ Wanting to know the bird's gender is stupid. (I am simply curious to know this detail about a companion who I hope to spend at least ten years with.)
~ Any table-top cage is automatically bad, no matter how big, even if it's not a vertical/tower shape. Only free-standing cages are acceptable.
~ You should observe the bird's behavior for a few days before naming. (I understand doing this, but not every name needs to be based on behaviors. I always liked Griffin for a male bird, and Thunder for a bird with grey.) ~ Pellet-free/no-pellet diet will ruin a bird's health. ~ A diet with pellets is lazy and too artificial.
~ If you own more than three birds, you are hoarding/collecting and clearly don't care about all of them. Only a select few YouTube/social media stars are allowed to own four or more. ~ A dedicated bird room is fantastic! ~ Keeping the birds in their own room is sad. (We decided on a bird room partially because this room holds heat well during the cold months.)

No one agrees on everything an you'll always get a huge variety of opinions. This one made me laugh I used to go to a forum where people thought a flock of seven (before we got Willow) was shocking.
Eight birds, of only three different species, is nothing compared to some people who we know in real life, or have seen online.
