Just curious what you all do.. This is our effort. Eve and I put paper chains together and husband put them up. We also have a tiny tree (2-3ft) to one side where he budgies never dare venture..

Having a chocobo precludes having decorations.
Also wallpaper, carpeting and furniture.

No, they're in a place they never venture to. But to be honest they are scared of most new things anyway.

There’s an artificial tree in the bay window of the room the buds are in but they steer well clear. They have supervised free flight time in their room and not the run of the entire house, where the majority of decorations are. It is funny to watch them eye the tree, have a discussion about it but not go anywhere near. There’s a wrought iron chandelier style light over the table and I have Swarovski Crystal snowflakes hanging from each ‘arm’ of it, which they are fascinated by as they catch the light but they don’t go to investigate. By the time they pluck up the courage, the decorations will be coming back down. My mobility is very restricted at the moment as I am waiting for major surgery to remove a very large tumour (biopsies have strongly indicated it is benign) so their free flight time has been reduced as I can’t interact with them quite as much as usual or get up and move around easily to move them on if they’re up to mischief. Luckily they are very settled and used to cage time and they especially love when the door is left open and they can see and hear the general noise of the home, particularly joining in with the dogs barking when someone is at the door. 😂 Hubby is being trained up to know their complete routine for when I have had the surgery as it is a long recovery period as it’s a risky procedure and there is a chance I’ll be left permanently disabled with complete loss of control of an ankle and foot on one side. We won’t know until after surgery and I’ll be under the long term pain management clinic going forward. There’s been a lot of appointments and hospital visits and tests and biopsies and scans hence why I’ve not been here quite as much as I’d like. But apart from that I am actually in a good head space, crafting and making cards whenever I can to unwind and relax and being well looked after by my two doggies on the bad days, always by my side. They all had a bobble of millet today to celebrate Jasper’s 4 year anniversary of coming home to live with us. A lovely moment as all came to eat from my hands and the close interaction was really lovely as I could just sit there and know they weren’t moving until they’d left my palms full of husks. It’s the little things that makes having them so special.

I hope the procedure is successful, ariella and that after your recovery, you enjoy much more mobility & comfort. I'm glad you're being well looked after. The budgies have split seven-nine in the cages tonight but despite this more sensible arrangement, they are squinnying and squabbling up a storm. I can hear Mr Hibs doing most of it. He's so funny at bedtime, striking at my hand when I close the cage door next to him. He used to do that as a youngster with the cage cover at bedtime. Oh dear, I just heard the sound of a male who has had his tail grabbed by a hen. Blue murder was shrieked.

ariella I hope your procedure surpasses your expectations and you are left with adequate mobility to do what you want to do. Happy the dogs and budgies are a comfort to you.

Marianne Marlow your tree and paper chains are really pretty. I have my advent calendar and Christmas cards in the lounge. I usually hang some Christmasy things from the CD shelves but fearless Rito will want to play with them so best not this year. I have a little 40cm tree that I put battery lights on so I can take it out of the lounge when we're not in the room but I've not decorated it yet. ariella sorry to hear you've got to have surgery. I wish you a speedy recovery. Do you know when it will be? I'm glad your still enjoying crafting

Gosh, late nighters your gang Loz 😂 Mine are ready to hit the sack at 7.30, if I’m late they let me know and shout until I go out to tuck them up with their blankets and turn down the lights 😂

I hope your surgery goes well, and hope you’re mobility isn’t impacted as much as it might be
