Hi My white budgie has brown feathers just above the cere. He seems in good spirits, his cage companion is fine. I'm not sure whether it's just messy eating, a moult, or something else healthwise. He's on a diet of various organic human grade seeds and grains, and will eat anything green. Neither of them eat fruit or any veg which isn't green. He's very partial to his grub! He's not showing any signs of distress. Any ideas anyone.

My white-feathered budgies show the same. Its due to moulting. The feathers aren't going brown, it's just that the underlying skin is becoming visible through the gaps in the feathers.
Nothing to worry about!
Lovely looking budgie ☺️

From those photos, I'm inclined to agree with Loz. It doesn't look the same as the staining that one of my boys gets above his cere due to his liver. Looks more like the feathers have gotten a bit patchy so there's more space/shadow and visible skin.

As well as more skin showing, the very tips of the new feathers usually show through with a black spot. This is old blood that is left as the blood supply to the feather reduces.
