Is the swaying from side to side you being aggressive towards Chocobo and thinking about warning her off? I noticed you opening your beak and I thought you were going to lunge at her!
I'm glad she stayed out of your cage!

I do sway, to tell Daddeh and naughty birbs that I am not to be messed with. I find that setting your store out early is a good way to stop fights before they even start. Sometimes opening my beak is another warning, sometimes it's a yawn. Even I don't always know what I mean by it.
I'm told that Chocobo is a sensible girl who avoids physical conflicts wherever possible. I think that might be true.

If everyone (including Daddeh) remembers their boundaries, there will be no problems! Last diary update for yesterday. I had a nice visit from Loric, who sings to me but doesn't steal my stuff. He's a well-behaved boy. 1drv.ms/v/s!AnyoyWilEZ_Xh_hTEKNNKnM2isEUZA?e=rv02IYI do like it when the budgies sing to me 1drv.ms/v/s!AnyoyWilEZ_Xh_hUM4tt-WRSOsXRxA?e=Q5eYUFThis morning Daddeh has not been sticking his camera in my face so he missed it when I flew from my perch and landed in my water. He keeps tell me, "If you want to fly, Coco, you need to exit the cage first!" Obviously I don't listen to him - does he actually have wings? I don't think so! Anyway, I am waiting to see if those nice boys, Loric & Mr Hibs, are going to return and serenade me. Later!

Loz, Coco seem entirely unphased by all that is happening, quite the opposite, and she and Chocobo seem perfectly happy in each other's company; but I am curious, Coco has been out of her cage, why do you think she mainly stays in her cage?

I'm guessing that she is used to being in her cage, but we'll see what loz says.

oldbuddy , Marianne MarlowI'm sorry but there is little point asking Daddeh anything, he really is clueless although I know he tries. I don't leave my cage because it's not something I've ever done. I've always sat in my cage, it's what I'm used to doing. A couple of weeks ago I found myself out of the cage but I really have no idea how I got there. One minute I was where I belong, the next I'm "out" and having no idea where I am or what to do. I spent all day out of the cage, no access to food (except some millet I accepted from Daddeh's hand - scary). By the end of the day I was pretty frazzled. I don't really know how I got back in the cage, Daddeh was there and there was a stick with some more millet on it (I was *starving!*). The whole day is a frightening confusing blur and I hope never to repeat it. I'm better off in my cage - although I wish I could flap my wings a bit more, it's all a bit tight even after Daddeh removed the swing.

Ohhhh it's the height of aggravation isn't it Coco, fancy putting that seed stick soooo far away, come on you know you want some, be brave, don't let the Chocobo eat it all

Kona and Pepper would not leave their cage for about a month, maybe five or six weeks. Then they spent a couple of weeks sitting in the open front doorways. Then they tried climbing up top and sitting there.
Next, I made a foraging bowl (seeds hidden underneath bird-safe shredded paper), set it on the floor, and Pepper eventually came down to look at it.

In fact even today with Loz's cleverness and Chocobo's example, clearly aimed to encourage Coco to come out, she has made good progress. She is such a lovely bird that it will be great to see her and Chocobo mixing it with the budgies through the day.
