Can you explain what you mean by "oyster shells" ?
Do you actually mean oyster shell grit 🤔

Yes, this is perfectly fine for your budgie. While oyster shell grit isn’t necessary for budgies, it does give them another form of calcium if they feel they need it. Mine have always preferred grit to cuttlefish bone. Just watch how they use it if they do; sometimes a sick bird will over-feed on it trying to find something to make themselves feel better. You may read some comments about how bad oyster shell grit is for parrots and should never be given it; but most people do not understand the different between oyster-shell grit (soluble grit) and insoluble grit (very small pebbles and sand) which birds such as pigeons and doves need as they don’t husk their seed before they eat it, unlike parrots which do. Soluble grit is broken down in the birds’ gut whereas insoluble grit is not.
