Today Babybird made a mess 2 times, so mother had to clean up seeds and salad on the floor. Babybird is out from 7.00 to 19.00 and dosent go inside her cage at all. So we have 2 small bowls on her cage and her tub she drinks from.
So she tilted the bowls with seeds and salad on the floor 2 times and it was all fresh food for her. She has done it before and also with a smaller seed bowl on the playground once.
I looked on amazon for a seed bowl that you can install on the top of the cage with some screws or other lock mechanics. Do anyone have a suggestion what to do ?
Why does she throws her seed bowls on the floor ? Do ur budgies also do that ?
Maybe we need a heavy bowl of stone,so she cant throw it.

She throws her food bowls because she is a budgie, because she is a hen, because she can, because it is fun watching hoomans run around to clean up after a little bird.

This must be the main reason "because it is fun watching hoomans run around to clean up after a little bird. "

Definitely the reason Iris tips the seed troughs. That and all the attention she gets! This must be the main reason "because it is fun watching hoomans run around to clean up after a little bird. "

I use a glazed terracotta tapas dish- it is wider than most feed bowls so much more difficult to move around. sometimes Pip stands in it, but I have had no more insidents of food getting soiled than with standard bowls.

I wonder if you could put food in this bird bath? We have this one (but we are not using it for food).

Very good of Babybird to be brave enough to try her new feeding station. A lot of perches provided for this sort of thing seem not to be placed or size-appropriate for budgies. I don’t think mine have every used them.

Yeah when i look for bird toys and stuff on amazon then they often show both parrots and budgies just to sell ther stuff. So its hard to know the real size for the items. Now BB also thinks its a bath in the other cup. If she see any water, then its a bath for her
