So i dont know if thats actually a stroke, but for the past few months my budgie was having weird situations on night when he was asleep. This situation happens even now and i dont know how to avoid it.
He basically starts to scream out of nowhere, being scared as if from a ghost and then loses balance and falls somewhere down in cage. His one leg gets paralyzed for like few seconds and then he takes over control very quickly. This whole thing cycles around like 2-4 more times until he starts to feel better and goes back to sleep. This situation happens rarely, i guess once in a month.
Not long ago he became blind, so i had suspects about a stroke, although internets interpretation of stroke is a tad bit different. If you got anything, please let me know.

It sounds as if he could be having little seizures, i had one that would do just this and the vet likened them to epilepsy seizures.
Keep him warm and quiet while he recovers, there really isn't a lot you can do for them im afraid, mine was fine in between but as he got older they became more frequent.

The blindness is more indicative of a stroke than seizures, but my first reaction was the same as skysmum’s - seizures rather than stroke. There isn’t a lot you can do except as mentioned, keep him calm, warm and contained until he has fully recovered. Being blind will cause its own problems as any change to his set up will be confusing for him. I would pad the bottom of his cage with something soft to lessen the probability of injury when he does fall. I’d also gradually move his perches down as well so he doesn’t have as far to fall when he does have a seizure. How old is this little guy?
