We're probably going to stop letting our Budgies and Cockatiels out of their cages at the same time (Sprite, the Sun Conure, is never out of her cage without supervision). Mainly because they like to sit in each other's cages, and the Cockatiels can be stubborn about leaving the Budgies' cage.
Lately there have also been occasional squabbles when a Cockatiel wanted to use a Budgie cage perch or toy. Maybe it's hormones? Or temporary fascination with new Budgie cage?

How will this change affect the budgie-tiel romance you have going on there? I'll be interested to see how this all develops, for obvious reasons 😊

The romance seems to have faded on Willow's (female Budgie) side. She prefers Basil now. Kona still follows her around sometimes but she ignores him.
So far, Kona has been walking on top of the new cage sometimes and staring down at her.

Poor Kona!
Chocobo still has a soft spot for Eeyore, even though Eeyore has never done anything but ignore her!
