I think i asked before but i cant find the post anymore.
In the start when we got BB then it was no problem to get her on my finger and put her inside the cage. It did take few tryes tho but eventualy she got inside.
Now we cant get her near the cage or to relax on my finger. She knows what im up to and flies away from the cage location. We tryed to power off the lights and wait later in the evening and power off the tv so there is no noise.
We also tryed to put her favorite seeds everywhere in her cage.
She just flies away and want to fool around with everything else around her. Sometimes she starts to feed my finger with seeds rather than step up.
So we need to catch her and i hate to chase and grap BB. When we then catch her and put her inside the cage then she starts to squark and scold us.
This seems stressfull to her and us.
Is ur budgies also like this ?
or how do you get ur birds inside ther cage.
Old Piphans loved to jump inside her cage several times a day
and rest or preen herself. But BB wont coop.

Babybird is a very, very spirited budgie!
I'm sure someone will be able to come up with a plan for you. The only advice I can suggest is to not have any seeds or water available outside of the cage for the time being. My thinking is that BB thinks that the entire apartment is her safe space that she can find food and water in. She needs to learn the the cage is a special place that she wants to go to for food & water. Once BB is very established in going to bed in her cage, you can relax the food & drink rules.
Alternatively ...
What happens if you don't force BB into her cage at the end of the day? I have a lad who always made a song and dance about bedtime, Prothall. In the end, I learned that I just needed to give him an extra 30-60 minutes and he went to bed on his own. Eventually that phase passed (I hope!) and he goes to bed now more or less the same time as the rest (usually last though!).

Yes she has food and water everywhere and is out from 7 in the morning to late evening. So thats like 12 h at least she is out.
This evening we try again and let her be out to 22.00 ish Thats when my mother go to sleep. So BB has to be inside her cage at that time. BB has alot of energie.

BB is never want to go in her cage when you are leaving food all in the room. Loz is right, remove all of the food in the room and she will eventually get hungry and thirsty and go into her cage. Give it a try .

Max was like this, he just wanted to stay out and play.
Sometimes I would have to trick him with one of his favourite balls, rattle it at him as I was taking him to the cage and then shut him in quick :-)

Bless her, busy busy girl 😁. I would definitely only put food in her cage, apart from a bit of veg I’ve only ever kept seed in their cages, she will go back when she’s hungry.

BB´ love for me is more important than food. I cant walk one step without BB landing on me.
So as long im there for a visit then she will stay on me or very close to me.
I know it might be for the best to remove the food outside the cage but i cant get my self to do it. Cuz im very happy for her. So it hurts my heart to remove the food outside.

But she knows what im up to.

This evening we removed BB food outside the cage to see if she want to get in her cage tomorrow. She refuse to get inside when i have her on my finger. Its impossible...So we need to catch or grap her every evening. Thats why we give up and try ur advise.
Im just worried she dont eat anything while im on work and my mother not is home. The cage is open for her with 2 food bowls, millets and water. So lets hope this goes well.

She'll figure it out when she's hungry enough.

Our two Cockatiels want to sit on us whenever possible. At night, I often have to change their food, put it in their cage, then leave the room for 30 minutes to an hour. They often go into the cage after I leave.

My cockatiel has spent that last two nights on her cage, not in it. It's a battle of wits that she is currently winning.
(Why am I thinking I'd like another cockatiel, what's wrong with me?)

Hahaha ye sits a battle..and we lost again. Last evening we removed all the food outside the cage. But Babybirds cuteness overpowerd my mother. So she fillet up the food bowls outside the cage again. Since we cant find in our hearts to only let BB have food in the cage. Mission failed... Now we want to see if BB wants to sleep outside her cage. I hope this ends well tonight.
In the start when we got BB then there was no problem getting her inside the cage. She did get angry tho. But eventualy we could put her inside the cage when she was on our finger or hand.
Lately BB ceres has changed from this light blue to brown colour. So i guess its a hormone thing now...
