Do you cover your birds' cage(s) at night? I am just curious about why everyone does it or does not.
We don't because our birds are in their own room.
I've also heard the logic that covering the cage is "turning it into a big cozy nesting box", and you should not do this if you don't want bird babies. I don't know if I agree. Would any birds want to mate if the "nesting box" keeps disappearing in the mornings?

I cover the budgies at night. If Chocobo & Coco have deigned to spend the night in their cages, they get covered too.
This is necessary as the bird room doubles as a lounge for me.
Chocobo has decided she likes to be behind Coco's cage at night, shes found a cozy spot to hide in. Coco requires careful timing in order to lock her in her cage as she much prefers to sleep on top of it!

I cover mine. My birds are in the living room, we are in the same room until we go to bed.
Means we have to have a lamp on and use earphones to watch anything after 10pm :-)
But it's what we're used to now.

Marianne Marlow, they fact that they appear to ignore each other all day leads me to suspect that Chocobo & Coco are indeed plotting devilment together. Good shout.

I’ve always covered mine too, they start shouting when it starts to get dusk, blanket time 😂

Yeah I cover mine too when it’s bed time I don’t cover it all the way though I feel they need to see me around, as I also sleep near them So I basically just keep the front side uncovered
As you suggested about the nesting thing, it never crossed my mind and it doesn’t seem to be a problem at all
