Hi everyone! Just wondering, what colour chicks would come out of a blue and white recessive pied male and an opaline cinnamon light green hen? Here are some pictures: Romeo: Lilly: Thanks Nicola

I can't help you, Nicola, I would just be guessing, but hopefully someone will get back to you.

If neither bird is split for any mutations all the chicks would be normal light green. However it would be quite unusual to find a pair of pet type budgies that were not split for something.
To get any blue series birds the hen would have to be split for blue
To get any recessive pied chicks the hen would have to be split for recessive pied
To get opaline the cock would have to be spit for opaline
To get cinnamon the cock would have to be split for cinnamon
Other mutations like greywing, dilute or ino could also appear if the birds have other hidden genes

Thanks Nev. What colour chicks would the blue recessive pied male (same as the one in the picture) and an opaline light blue female produce? I don't know what colour the males parents were, but the blue female parents are this: Mother= opaline cinnamon light green Father= Normal Blue Thanks again Nicola
