nice 1 just starting breeding my 8 budgies are in breeding cages just waiting to see if anything happens how do you know there ready to lay eggs they are feeding each other ect?

Hi and welcome to forum I have started a new thread for your question so you can get members' response. Feeding the hen is a sign of bonding but does not necessarily mean that the hen will lay eggs, however it is a good sign. A few better signs are when the hen starts to spend more and more time in the nest box and if the hen's poops get bigger and smellier, like 10 times bigger than normal.

i often know when the hen is always in the nest box and if you look in the on the hens beck just above their tail it often looks alot t=larger if you take alot of note of you hen and with most of my pairs i often see them breeking round about dinner time and thats always a good sign
