My hen has laid three tiny eggs now about 1/4 of the size they should be, i have removed. Could you tell me what the next step to do is? Its her first time breeding (with me as owner) thanks Carole

These eggs will not be fertile. How old is the hen and did she breed before you?

I am not sure of her age. Do you think she is too young and to leave it until the summer (say another 3 or 4 months?) thanks

Hi It isn't unusual for young hens to lay smaller eggs.
at their first attempt. You could just leave her & let
her get over it & then start hopefully to lay normal
eggs. Just because there small don't necessarily
mean their infertile. Yours B.J.
