I always think of my grandmother (dad's mother) when anyone mentions pierced ears. She had quite large holes where she had worn pretty hefty earings for years. Long ago, before I came along, she had been a Tiller Girl on the stage in London. The earings she had worn were enormous glittering things that had pulled on her ear-lobes and she had continued to wear some pretty glittering stuff in her younger years.
She was quite a character!!

Don't worry Katie. I was well into my 30's before I had my ears pierced. I considered it worth it then as someone wanted to buy me diamond earrings, lol!!! Who was I to say no? ? Oh I'm glad I'm not the only one haha. My friend and I were supposed to get ours pierced several years ago, but her dad ended up taking her on her birthday, so I never got mine done. But if someone were to buy me some diamonds, I'd pierce them tomorrow lol.

My daughter had her ears pierced for her 10th birthday with the 'gun' scary...but my son had one ear pierced done for his 14th birthday. He didn't what to go to 'Claire's' so went to a tattoo & pierce. I wasn't thinking about how the piercing was going to be done!!! the man held son's ear lobe with special tweezers, then put a needle through the ear. Son never moved or flinched. So easy and painless, it healed quicker that his sisters too!!! the needle is so sharp that it goes though the ear with no great force unlike the 'gun'

She worked at Claire's and she pierced ears all the time haha.

I took my daughter to a very well respected tatoo parlour for her ear piercings when she was 8yrs, she had titanium earings and not a single problem. Respect for the spurs ink, special memories...however I am a gooner! living in Swansea but make quite a few games a season, am a red member. Only have 1 tat myself, a baby devil on my thigh which was an 80s thing and now stands for everything I hate....you got it manyoooo! So a cover tat is planned. Am also looking at getting an ambigram ink of my kids names on my wrist. 40yrs and possibly hitting a mid life crisis!
